Even with the rain, we are excited and still on for this afternoon.
Join us for an afternoon of wellness and mindfulness activities. There will be a yoga class, a cooking demonstration and a mindfulness walk. No prior yoga experience is necessary. Kids and parents will be doing yoga together to enable parents to assist their children.
Yoga and mindfulness encourage relaxation of both the body and the mind. This can help reduce stress and anxiety. Which we know can be heightened in children with chronic conditions that already affect the GI tract. Our aim is to start teaching kids the connection between their mind and body, specifically their mind & gut as part of an integrated care approach to managing a diagnosis like celiac. Movement and relaxation can help support overall wellbeing and GI health!
