Volunteer

Are you looking for a way to find meaning and help others? Are you willing to share your experiences living with celiac disease or raising a child with celiac disease? If yes, Celiac Kids Connection has lots of volunteer opportunities for you.

We have on-going volunteer commitments as well as one-time tasks. You can take a project from start to finish. You can take on a role and lead those efforts of our group.

You are also welcome to serve on committees with a focus on a specific goal. We have committees for:

  • Awareness and Advocacy
  • Communications
  • Food Insecurity
  • Fundraising
  • Member Connections
  • School Advocacy
  • Welcoming New Members

Our volunteer activities can be performed by either a parent or a teen member.

Host a Gluten-Free Food Drive

Food insecurity is a problem for many. It is poses unique problems for those with celiac disease who have to maintain a gluten-free diet. The gluten-free diet is expensive and finding specialty gluten-free products at food pantries can be difficult.

You can help by hosting a gluten-free food drive for a local food pantry. We will provide a kit with all the resources you need to help others.

Green Ribbon Projects

Are you a teen member of the group? Have you ever thought that you would like to contribute to our group? Green Ribbon Projects are a way for teens to become active participants.

A Green Ribbon Project can be planning an event or creating a resource for our membership. The board has a developed a list of suggested projects, but this is really about what you want to do for the group. We would love to see Green Ribbon Projects based on a teen’s original idea.

All Green Ribbon Projects need to be approved by the board before they are started.

Get Green!

If you are interested in performing a Green Ribbon Project, please email Francie Kelley for an application.
